The unit is built extremely well. I was torn between the TR unit and the TC. One reason was the TR is a quiet running machine in comparison. I wanted the option agitating the water as I grew up with, know this will get those tough stains out of my clothes. I am please to admit the noise is not bad at all. I do suggest getting the knobs vs. push button controls. I paid the extra to have the unit delivered and installed. They will make sure it is leveled, balanced well and even will run a quick wash test to be sure. I have to admit the run cycle time is so much shorter that I previous washer.

Motor Seized

Frustrated and Bitter 12/30/2024

The motor seized day after Thanksgiving. I had only had the washer for three months. Customer service was so hard to reach. I had to leave messages with Speed Queen or remain on hold. Then had to call repair. After 10 days, new motor was installed. The same day and after motor was installed and after repair man was gone, the washer would only wash on normal cycle. Repairman was called and said he could not return that day. Called store where washer was purchased. After two phone calls and talking with a third person, they agreed to replace the washer. It was delivered 3 days later. I have no advice for anyone purchasing a new washer except do your homework. My experience has been very frustrating.

Washing quality of whites and kitchen towels is very low.. Any spots in the items is not removed at all. The item are dirtier each time because the dirt accumulates. The wash cycle is much too short, as is the sink time.

This beast does what it's supposed to do. No nonsense clothes washing. In a world where everything is disposable this machine is built to last. I've installed several clothes washers and just moving it around in the box I knew it was solid. The shopping brackets are an added touch, more often than not the installers don't treat the equipment with care. Boxes get tossed in the truck dragged around and kicked out of the way. This can take all the abuse and then it'll last. The spin out is so good my dryer gets to take it easy. The noise is about the same as my 4 year old whirlpool until the transmission spewed it guts. I knew I wasn't going to buy another whirlpool or any of those fancy painted Samsungs or lg's. Built to last 25 years??? Only time will tell.

My Mom always told me it costs a nickel more to go first class. After inflation it's closer to $500. Two years ago I purchased a new Whirlpool washer for $600. One month after the warranty ran out (only 1 year) it started dancing across the floor and cost $400 to fix. The service tech informed me the repair would only last 3-6 months and that I should upgrade to a Speed Queen. The repair lasted 7 months and now I'm a proud owner of a TC5. My new unit is 10 times quieter and does the wash 3 times faster than the Whirlpool.
