Frigidaire Oven F90 Error

  • Error Codes

On Frigidaire/Electrolux-built ranges, F90 typically means the control waited too long for the door lock to unlock (often right after Self-Clean) and timed out. Here are safe steps to clear it—then we’ll step in if needed.

Q: What triggers F90 most of the time?

A: A sticking door latch, weak/failed door lock motor or switch, or the oven still too hot to release after Self-Clean. Sometimes moisture/cleaner residue on the touch panel can confuse inputs during cool-down.

Q: First safe steps?

A:

  • Press CANCEL.

  • Flip the range breaker OFF for 5 minutes to reset the control.

  • Let the oven cool completely (fan off, door cool to the touch), then restore power and try again.

Q: The door is still locked—anything else I can try?

A: Start Self-Clean again for 15–30 seconds, then press CANCEL to command an unlock. This “recycle” can re-home a stuck latch. (Do not let a full Self-Clean run.)

Q: Could something be blocking the latch?

A: Yes. Make sure no foil, pan handles, or racks are pinched at the door edge. Gently press in on the door while tapping CANCEL to help the strike align.

Q: What parts usually fail when F90 returns?

A: The door lock motor/assembly, door switch, or related wiring/connectors. Less commonly the control board (relay/triac) that powers the lock.

Q: When should I call Beacon?

A: If the door won’t unlock after a breaker reset and the quick re-lock/unlock trick, or if F90 reappears during normal baking, schedule service. We’ll test the lock motor & switch, inspect wiring/connectors, and verify the control—then replace only what’s needed.
