The last of a true washing machine

Washer actually fills with water (unlike any of the other new washers on the market), which is essential with two toddlers. The only negatives are the lack of load size options (there are really only two, full load and half), so if you have to wash only a couple items you don't have a small load option; the other is the look, they should really update the black top part. Other than that, it works great, we have an Obama EPA "high efficiency (HE)" washer at our other place and you have to wash things multiple times to even get them wet! The HE washers are about as efficient as a HE toilet you have to flush 3 times, or a HE faucet or shower that you leave running for 5 minutes waiting for hot water. This washer is way better than any HE out there.

I like this washer. My only wish is that more cycles could use water for a small load. Normal cycle is the only setting that you can use less water. All the other settings use a full load of water.

I bought this washer on 4/22/19 and on 6/22/19 two months to the day our Maytag washer started to make an awful grind noise. I called for service on 6/22 but could not get a service until following week. The nut holding the clutch system came loose causing the teeth on the dive system not to mesh and grind away. New parts ordered and installed the next following week. The service man ran what he called a calibration cycle and said it was good to go. Soon as he left I ran a load and now the washer will not go into final spin cycle. This service man has been to my home every week since first call on 6/22 and today it is 7/18 and still have no fix. I have come to the point that I am thinking about buying a second cheap washer just so we at least have something to use while waiting weeks to get the Maytag repaired. Service man has called Maytag tech line and they keep blaming me for the problem. The salesman that sold me the washer said I needed to buy his surge protector or Maytag won't cover the circuit board. Maytag tech support said I needed to remove the surge proctor it probably was my problem. They are just guessing at this point too. I could go on with more but it's just not worth it. This turned out to be a $400 machine that includes a built in $500 extended warranty making it $900.

Previous set lasted 43 years and counting (washer still running!). A record not previously beat by anyone. Replaced my working wash with this one from the old school appliance store. My opinion is its important to pay attention to details on set up for optimum performance. After a week of using I have had some stunning details to offer not first realized but no complaints. Previously not having problems with old washer, my laundry has a stunning fresh scent that it didn't have before. I didn't realize maybe my laundry was not getting as clean as I had originally thought. Used same products in both washers! This washer held the entire contents of 2 weeks of laundry for me, considering its not the largest, realizing sizes have drastically changed over the years! Every setting you need for washing is there. I am very proud of my choice and I think you have introduced a quality product that could change the course of future washers. So many of them don't hold up to peoples expectations these days. One of the reasons I never considered buying a new one. I am hoping it becomes my next WOW factor washer in reliability and quality purchase with very little repairs needed over the coming years. Thanks for a quality experience one should be able to expect from an appliance purchase. Appliance stores that pay attention to balance, throw in all the needed set up accessories, and give white glove delivery experience makes this an optimal purchase by far. I was stunned to find out the roomy washtub size and now I can wash my down comforter with ease that I previously had to take to the laundromat!

Ups: fast, efficient, clean washing. all good. Downs: Goes off load more easily than i think it should. doesn't allow me to set the water level manually, so i have to guess. it's a feature i had on my old maytag i really miss. nor is it easy to interrupt the cycle if i omit an article. maybe it's a steeper learning curve. it sucks having a machine that is smarter than i am.

Starting retirement. Decided to update our laundry appliances. Gave are still running strong Maytag Proforma Series washer and dryer to a young family. Looked on line and visited serveral forums. With the Speedqueen now redesigned and poorly reviewed people are talking about the Maytag. Commercial. This washer has an agitator and deep water. It is so quiet I actually checked to see if it had stopped running on the first load. Not quite as many cycle options as the Proforma Series, but everything we need. If you want a washer that actually works check the online videos comparing clothes movement during the wash cycle. You will be sold too!

I researched extensively before purchasing this washer. I knew all the features....good and bad but actually using the washer has been a challenge. I have only used it a couple of times so I may learn more that will help. I truly wish there was a real hot water. I feel that it is a waste to have so many temps listed which really are not that different. I hate that you cannot observe it actually agitating the clothes. The full tub seems more like a half tub and I am not convinced it is filling correctly. The pause and cancel button just doesn't seem to work the way you would expect. I haven't found a way to change a choice after the cycle starts....for example choosing normal but then while putting clothes in realizing you have more than you thought and try to change to a cycle that will give a "full" tub. Or starting the cycle but realizing you should have chosen a different temp or added a second rinse. It may be possible but it didn't work when I tried. My biggest shock and disappointment was the appearance of the control panel. I bought mine without seeing it in person. When it was delivered I was very disappointed with the black panel and the screws attaching it. It looks cheap and like it was added as a second thought to cover something up. It only covers the top and front. The sides are white. The screws are silver and stand out like a bad repair job. I think if they had to have screws on the front of the panel at least use black or put some type of cap on them.The panel doesn't fit tight and if you push on it in areas other than the pause button it will trigger functions that I think are meant for the pause button. I was disappointed enough with the appearance of the control panel I change my mind about ordering the matching dryer. Maybe I will be more satisfied after I use it more.

The 'normal' load is very fast. Most loads come out clean. NOt hubby's work clothes. The clothes spin out very dry which shortens drying time. I would like it better if I could adjust the water level. Say I have 3 things needing to be washed on delicate-cycle BUT this cycle always fills the tub, no adjusting. That wastes water...
