Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Disappointed

Jenny8675309 6/25/2019

I've had this attachment for a couple of years too and mine broke as I was using it. never used it to grind meat, but I use it once a year to purée tomatoes for sauce. I'd be willing to buy a metal one but it isn't compatible with the purée parts. I'm terrified to buy another plastic one.

Disappointed

Flamingo22 3/23/2019

I have had several attachments including the food grater, food grinder, sausage maker and juicer for many, many years and except for the cracks I enjoyed using them to create a variety of foods much to my family's delight. In 2015 I bought my 4th KitchenAid stand mixer, the first one being the tilt head design which I gave to my mother. The 2nd one I bought was a 5 qt lift bowl work horse but I needed a bigger bowl so after approx. 35 yrs that went to my niece. The other 600 series Pro I bought in 2004 for our vacation home. The problem seems to be with the hub in the Pro series. The attachments repeatedly spin out and then the machine hesitates to start. They just do not fit into the hub as they did with the others. The juicer is the worst. This has led me to conclude that the problem is with the Artisan series.I am hoping that you can shed some light on this problem.I want to be able to use my attachments on my Pro series machines as I did with the other previous machines.I have been a loyal KitchenAid fan for over 35 yrs and I am hoping that you would be able to shed some light on this dilemma,so that I can give the appropiate rating.

Poor customer service

PatWells 3/5/2019

I'm very disappointed in Kitchenaid's customer service.....there attitude was sorry all we can do is, you need to buy the replacement part.....which was out of stock, so they told me I could then buy the the whole attachment again for more $....and that was with their discount. There discounted price was more $ than I could buy it at other stores/websites. I've been in customer service jobs in my life.....so I know good and poor customer service.....this is poor customer service.....I see that's how they have treated other customers by the other reviews. I guess they are more interested in selling the product, and not standing behind their product or keeping loyal customers.....because word of mouth is a powerful tool......both positively and negatively.

Broke in three places

Sharon G. 2/6/2019

My food/meat grinder is a few years old but hasn't been used often. Grinding meat today (partially frozen as suggested) and cracked in 3 places sending a piece of the housing into my face. Frustrated as it only has a one year warranty as I was told by the customer service representative. I've used this for grinding meat before with absolutely no problem - so not sure why is has cracked so horribly when not very old.

Not good!

Enna 12/15/2018

I have the plastic food grinder/pasta maker, the plastic slicer/shredder (bought that twice thinking the first was just a fluke) BOTH of them have cracked horribly! I have contacted Kitchen Aid (several times) regarding this issue and the response has been basically "too bad, so sad". At this point I am hesitant to purchase the newer versions. Has the problem been addressed and fixed??? Purchased my first Kitchen Aid mixer in 1981. Bought two one for each of my grown daughters. Betty Boysenberry is the most recent, purchased February 2009.

cracks just like original

Xcustomer 12/4/2018

Don't waste your money buying this replacement part as it will crack just like the original. The manufacture now sells a metal body food grinder and should replace the plastic body for free.
