Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Great BBQ

The BBQ itself is great but Home Depot made it very hard. I had the BBQ delivered and assembled it myself but the firebox was missing key welds and would bend/twist as it opened. Broil King offered to deliver a new firebox at no cost but I wasnt keen on having to disassemble and reassemble myself with the initial assembly taking 3 hours so potentially another 6 hours of work for a defective product. Home Depot first offered me a $100 coupon and then wanted me to pay the $250 for them to contract out the assembly. It took 3 days on and off the phone to sort it out which ended with them sending me a coupon to cover the cost of the assembly only. The Home Depot customer service reps were trying to help me as much as they could but they were definitely limited in what they could offer me and the manager I spoke to seemed to just want to get off the phone and wanted me to bring the old BBQ back first despite me having it delivered because I dont have a vehicle that could take it. Overall a very poor experience with Home Depot but Broil King was great and the BBQ itself is very much worthwhile. Highly recommend this BBQ but from a supplier other than Home Depot.
